The national SPAAMFAA organization was founded in 1958 at Syracuse, NY, with the purpose of preserving and displaying antique fire apparatus and promoting an appreciation of fire service history all across America.

In 1969, the SPAAMFAA board of directors conceived the idea of organizing regional chapters in addition to the established National organization. 1995, the Pacific Northwest Chapter came into existence as the first SPAAMFAA chapter ever to be granted a charter, with William R. Hall as the first president.

Both the Pacific Northwest Chapter of SPAAMFAA, and  National SPAAMFAA , are non-profit organizations.

Ownership of fire apparatus is not required for membership.

Our regions events cover Oregon, Washington, and Idaho.

In 2020 we had 83 members, from as far away as Germany!
